The 3KP12C is a bidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Littelfuse Inc., designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It offers a maximum reverse standoff voltage of 12V and a maximum clamping voltage of 20.9V at a peak pulse current of 150.8A (10/1000µs waveform).
This device features a peak pulse power dissipation of 3000W (10/1000µs waveform) and a steady state power dissipation of 7W on an infinite heat sink. It provides fast response time of less than 1 ps from 0V to breakdown voltage minimum. The 3KP12C is compliant with IEC-61000-4-2 ESD protection (30kV air and contact) and IEC-61000-4-4 EFT protection.
The diode is housed in a P600 axial leaded package with through-hole mounting. It is RoHS3 compliant, lead-free (Pb-free E3), and halogen-free. The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 175°C. Typical thermal resistance is 8°C/W junction-to-lead and 40°C/W junction-to-ambient.
