The Adafruit 3595 is a breakout board built around the APDS9960 sensor from Avago Technologies. It integrates an IR LED and four directional photodiodes to enable ambient light sensing, RGB color detection, proximity measurement up to a few centimeters, and gesture recognition (left/right, up/down). Communication is via I2C interface, making it easy to connect to microcontrollers. The board operates from a 3.3V or 5V supply and includes a 3.3V regulator and level shifting for compatibility. It features STEMMA QT and Qwiic connectors for solderless I2C connections. The breakout is supplied as a PCB with through-hole header pins for mounting.
