The 3M 3564-1000 is a 50-position D-Sub plug from the 3000 Series, designed for free-hanging (in-line) cable mounting. It features a 2.16mm pitch and two rows of contacts, with IDC termination that accepts 26-28 AWG round, flat, or jacketed cable. The contacts are made of copper alloy with a gold wiping area (30µin / 0.76µm) over nickel underplating, ensuring reliable signal integrity.
Electrical ratings include a current capacity of 1A per contact, insulation resistance greater than 1×10^9 Ω at 500 VDC, and a withstanding voltage of 1000 Vrms at sea level. The glass-filled PBT housing is rated UL 94V-0 for flammability and is gray in color. The operating temperature range spans -55°C to +105°C.
This connector is suitable for applications requiring a robust, low-profile interface for ribbon cable or discrete wire connections. The IDC termination simplifies assembly without soldering, and the unthreaded housing/shell flange allows straightforward panel or bracket mounting. The part is RoHS compliant and lead-free.
