The ExxonMobil Exceed 3518 PA is a premium cast film resin designed for high-performance packaging applications. Produced using ExxonMobil Chemicals' Exxpol® Technology, this hexene copolymer offers superior tensile properties, impact resistance, and puncture toughness. Its excellent drawability makes it versatile for both monolayer and multilayer cast packaging films.
Key physical properties include a density of 0.918 g/cc and a melt flow rate of 3.5 g/10 min. Mechanically, the film exhibits high tensile strength at yield (8.27 MPa MD, 7.58 MPa TD) and break (73.8 MPa MD, 46.7 MPa TD), along with significant elongation at break (510% MD, 680% TD). The resin also demonstrates good puncture energy (4.30 J) and tear strength.
Thermal properties include a peak melting temperature of 114 °C. Optical characteristics such as haze (2.4%) and gloss (86% at 45°) are also specified. The material contains a thermal stabilizer additive.
Applications for Exceed 3518 PA resin include Bag in Box, Barrier Food Packaging, Blown Film, Cast Film, Cast Stretch Film, Diaper Backsheet, Food Packaging, Form Fill and Seal Packaging, Hygiene Film, and Personal Care Packaging.
