The 3M 3434-0000T is an IDC (Insulation Displacement Connector) from the 3400 Series, designed for direct board-to-cable connections. It accommodates 26-28 AWG stranded or solid wire and features 26 positions arranged in a 4-row staggered grid with 0.100" (2.54mm) row spacing and 0.050" (1.27mm) cable pitch.
Electrical ratings include a 1A nominal current, insulation resistance greater than 1×10⁹ Ω at 500 VDC, and a withstanding voltage of 1,000 VRMS at sea level. The operating temperature range spans -55°C to +105°C, making it suitable for a variety of environments.
The connector uses a through hole mounting style with a feed through feature and IDC termination. The housing is made of gray glass-filled polyester (PBT) with a UL 94V-0 flammability rating. Contacts are copper alloy with a tin-lead finish (200µin) over nickel underplating.
This part is commonly used in applications requiring reliable, mass-terminated ribbon cable connections to printed circuit boards. Its low profile and standard staggered grid layout facilitate dense packaging in electronic assemblies.
