The 3M 3418-0000T is a 40 position, 4 row IDC ribbon cable connector from the 3400 series. It features a through hole mounting style and uses insulation displacement contact (IDC) termination for 26-28 AWG stranded or solid wire. The connector body is made of glass filled polyester (PBT) with a UL 94V-0 flammability rating and is gray in color.
Electrical specifications include a current rating of 1 A, insulation resistance greater than 1×10^9 Ω at 500 VDC, and a withstanding voltage of 1,000 VRMS at sea level. The operating temperature range is -55°C to +105°C. Contacts are copper alloy with a tin-lead finish (200 μ″ / 5.08 μm) over a nickel underplating.
This connector is designed for board-in, direct wire-to-board applications. The feed through feature allows for daisy-chaining multiple connectors on a ribbon cable. The row spacing is 0.100" (2.54 mm) and cable pitch is 0.050" (1.27 mm).
