The 30BQ015 is a surface mount Schottky rectifier diode from Vishay Dale, designed for applications requiring low forward voltage drop and a small footprint on PC boards. It is rated for a maximum average forward current of 3A at 50% duty cycle and a maximum DC reverse voltage of 15V. The device features a maximum forward voltage drop of 0.35V at 3A and 25°C, and 0.30V at 3A and 75°C, enabling efficient operation in low-voltage circuits.
The diode offers a peak forward surge current capability of 650A (5µs sine) and 75A (10ms sine), along with a non-repetitive avalanche energy rating of 1.5mJ. It operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 125°C and is packaged in a DO-214AB (SMC) surface mount case. The proprietary barrier technology allows reliable operation up to 125°C junction temperature.
Typical applications include disk drives, switching power supplies, converters, free-wheeling diodes, battery charging, and reverse battery protection. The device is optimized for OR-ing applications and supports high frequency operation. It includes a guard ring for enhanced ruggedness and long-term reliability, and uses high purity, high temperature epoxy encapsulation for enhanced mechanical strength and moisture resistance. The lead-free version is designated with the PbF suffix (30BQ015PbF).
