The Phoenix Contact EC 1 12DC... series electronic circuit breakers, including the 3000760 model, are designed for selective protection of 12V DC load circuits in both hazardous and non-hazardous environments. They feature a combination of active electronic current limitation for short circuits and overload shutdown, ensuring rapid response to over-current conditions.
Key features include current limitation that restricts fault current to 1.5 - 1.8 times the nominal current rating (I_N). This prevents the loss of DC output voltage that can occur when a fault triggers a switched-mode power supply into self-protection mode. These circuit breakers can protect capacitive loads up to 75,000 µF.
Available with nominal current ratings from 1 to 10A, the EC 1 12DC... series provides local status indication via a multi-color LED and remote status indication through a status output (+12 V = OK). Manual on/off and reset functions are managed by an integrated slide switch. Remote reset and on/off versions are also available.
Installation is facilitated by the ability to snap onto 35 mm mounting rails (EN 50022). With a width of only 12.5 mm, they require minimal space on the rail. Screw connection technology ensures secure and reliable wire connections, and an integrated current distribution system allows for easy wiring using available busbars.
