The 2STC5200 is a high power NPN epitaxial planar bipolar transistor from STMicroelectronics, designed using BiT-LA technology for linear amplifier applications. It features a high breakdown voltage of 230V (VCEO) and a continuous collector current rating of 15A, with a peak current capability of 30A. The device offers a typical transition frequency of 30 MHz and a minimum DC current gain of 80 at 1A collector current and 5V collector-emitter voltage. Saturation voltage is typically 3V at 8A collector current and 800mA base current.
This transistor is complementary to the 2STA1943 PNP type and is optimized for audio power amplifier circuits. It provides fast switching performance with typical turn-on time of 0.24 µs, storage time of 4.7 µs, and fall time of 0.6 µs. The maximum power dissipation is 150W at case temperature 25°C, with a junction-to-case thermal resistance of 0.83°C/W.
