The Keystone Electronics 2991 is a surface mount battery contact designed for coin cell applications. It features an SMD (SMT) tab termination for easy PCB mounting. The contact is made of phosphor bronze with tin-nickel plating, ensuring reliable electrical connection and corrosion resistance.
With a height above board of just 0.016" (0.41mm), this contact is suitable for low-profile designs. It is supplied on tape and reel packaging with 16mm tape width, 8mm pitch, and 1500 pieces per 7" reel. The part is RoHS3 compliant according to the datasheet, though independent verification is lacking.
This negative contact is ideal for use in battery holders for coin cells such as CR2012, CR2016, CR2020, CR2025, CR2032. It can be used in 3V or 6V (two-cell) configurations. The contact is designed for use with plastic insulators that prevent shorting when batteries are installed improperly.
