The 3M Textool 224-1286-00-0602J is a 24-position (2x12) zero insertion force (ZIF) DIP socket designed for .100" (2.54mm) lead spacing. It features a lever-actuated mechanism that allows easy insertion and removal of DIP packages without damaging leads. The socket accepts DIPs with row spacing from .300" to .600" (7.62mm to 15.24mm).
Contacts are made of beryllium copper with 30µ" (0.76µm) gold plating over 50µ" (1.3µm) nickel. The housing is glass-filled polysulfone (PSU) in green, rated UL 94V-0. Electrical rating is 1A, with insulation resistance >1x10⁹ Ω at 500Vdc and withstanding voltage of 1000Vrms at sea level. Operating temperature range is -55°C to +125°C.
The socket uses press-fit termination and has a closed-frame design. Body dimensions are 1.77" (45.0mm) length by 1.61" (40.9mm) width, with a row spacing of 1.100" (27.94mm). Contact point depth is 0.090" (2.29mm) below the top surface.
