The Kyocera AVX 2220WC183KAT1A is a high voltage multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) designed for demanding applications such as snubbers in high frequency power converters, resonators in switch mode power supplies, and high voltage coupling/DC blocking. It offers a capacitance of 0.018 µF with a voltage rating of 2500V (2.5kV) and X7R dielectric.
This capacitor exhibits low ESR at high frequencies, making it suitable for high frequency circuits. The operating temperature range is -55°C to 125°C, with a capacitance tolerance of ±10%. The termination is plated nickel and tin, ensuring RoHS compliance.
The component is housed in a 2220 (5750 Metric) surface mount package. Due to its larger physical size, special precautions are required during reflow soldering: temperature gradients should not exceed 4°C per second, and preheat temperature must be within 50°C of the peak temperature.
