The Littelfuse 20KPA40A is a unidirectional TVS diode from the 20KPA series, designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 40V and a breakdown voltage of 67.8V. With a peak pulse power dissipation of 20kW (10/1000μs waveform) and a peak pulse current of 297.9A, it provides robust surge protection. The device is housed in a P600 axial leaded through-hole package and operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C.
The diode incorporates a glass passivated chip junction for reliability and offers fast response time (typically less than 1.0ps from 0V to BV min). It is halogen free and lead free (Pb-free E3). Typical applications include protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. The 20KPA40A also meets IEC 61000-4-2 ESD protection standards (30kV air, 30kV contact) and IEC 61000-4-4 EFT protection.
