The 20KPA30A is a unidirectional TVS diode from the Littelfuse 20KPA series, designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 30V and a clamping voltage of 51.5V at a peak pulse current of 392.2A, with a peak pulse power dissipation of 20kW (10/1000μs waveform).

The device utilizes a glass passivated chip junction in the P600 axial package, providing fast response time typically less than 1ps from 0V to breakdown voltage. It is rated for steady state power dissipation of 8W and can handle a peak forward surge current of 400A (8.3ms half sine wave). The operating temperature range spans -55°C to 175°C, with thermal resistance junction to lead of 8.0°C/W and junction to ambient of 40°C/W.

This TVS diode is suitable for general purpose applications such as I/O interface protection, VCC bus protection, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. It is mounted through hole with axial leads, and the lead finish is matte tin (halogen-free, Pb-free E3). The part is UL recognized (V-0) and meets ESD protection per IEC 61000-4-2 (30kV air/contact) and EFT protection per IEC 61000-4-4.
