The 20ETF06S is a 600V, 20A fast soft recovery rectifier diode from Vishay, part of the 20ETF..S series. It is designed for output rectification and freewheeling in inverters, choppers, and converters, as well as input rectification where EMI control is critical.
Key electrical ratings include a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage of 600 V, a non-repetitive peak reverse voltage of 700 V, and an average forward current of 20 A under sinusoidal waveform. The forward voltage drop is typically 1.2 V at 10 A and maximum 1.3 V at 20 A. Reverse recovery time is typically 160 ns at 20 A with 100 A/µs di/dt. The diode can handle a non-repetitive surge current of 300 A (10 ms pulse).
The device is housed in a surface-mount TO-263AB (D2PAK) package with a common cathode configuration. It operates over a junction temperature range of -40°C to 150°C and has a low thermal resistance of 0.9 °C/W (junction to case). The glass passivation ensures stable operation under severe temperature and power cycling conditions.
