The Bourns 2057-40-BT1LF is a light-duty 2-electrode miniature gas discharge tube (GDT) from the 2057 series. It provides overvoltage protection with a DC sparkover voltage of 400V ±20% at 100V/s. The impulse sparkover voltage is less than 800V at 100V/μs and less than 1000V at 1000V/μs. It can handle an impulse discharge current of 5kA (8/20μs) for 10 operations and up to 10kA for a single operation. The nominal AC discharge current is 5A at 50Hz for 1 second. The GDT has low capacitance (<1pF) and high insulation resistance (>1GΩ). It is housed in an axial cylinder package with a diameter of 5.5mm and length of 6mm, designed for through-hole mounting. The device is RoHS compliant and carries a California Prop 65 warning. Typical applications include telecom equipment, power supplies, and industrial electronics requiring reliable overvoltage protection.
