The Bourns 2031-42T-SM-RPLF is a miniature 2-pole gas discharge tube (GDT) in a surface mount package. It provides reliable overvoltage protection with a typical DC sparkover of 420V and a minimum of 360V throughout service life. The impulse sparkover is 850V max at 5kV 1.2/50µs waveform. With an impulse discharge current rating of 1kA (8/20µs), it can handle high-energy surges.
This GDT features very low capacitance (<1 pF at 1 MHz), making it suitable for high-speed data line protection without signal degradation. It has a glow voltage of approximately 70V at 10mA and an arc voltage of about 10V above 1A. The DC holdover voltage is 135V (network applied per ITU-T K.12) with a holdover time less than 150ms.
The device is housed in a 2-SMD cylinder square end package and is rated for surface mount assembly. It operates over a temperature range of -40°C to 90°C and is RoHS3 compliant. The GDT is designed to operate with Bourns TBU® devices for coordinated overcurrent protection.
Service life ratings include 2 operations at 1kA 8/20µs, 50 operations at 100A 10/1000µs, and 20 operations at 500A 2/10µs, among others. It is UL recognized and meets ITU-T K.12, IEEE C62.31, and IEC 61643-311 standards.
The typical DC sparkover voltage is 420V at 100 V/s.
The minimum DC sparkover voltage is 360V.
The impulse discharge current is 1000A (1kA) for an 8/20 µs waveform.
It comes in a 2-SMD Cylinder Square End package and is surface mount.
The operating temperature range is -40°C to 90°C.
Yes, it is RoHS3 compliant as stated in the datasheet.
The capacitance is less than 1 pF at 1 MHz.
