The TE Connectivity 2-640379-2 is a 40-position DIP socket designed for mounting DIP integrated circuits. It features a 2.54mm (0.100") pitch and 0.6" (15.24mm) row spacing, accommodating standard 40-pin DIP packages. The socket uses a through hole mounting style with solder termination.
Contact reliability is ensured by beryllium copper contacts with a 30µin (0.76µm) gold plating. The housing is made of thermoplastic, glass filled material, providing durability and thermal stability. The closed frame design offers protection and secure IC retention.
The operating temperature range is -55°C to 125°C, making it suitable for a wide range of environments. This socket is RoHS3 compliant (unverified) and has an MSL of 1 (unlimited).
