The 1SMB15AT3 is a 600W peak power unidirectional transient voltage suppressor diode from ON Semiconductor, part of the 1SMB5.0AT3 series. It is designed to protect voltage-sensitive components from high voltage, high energy transients. Key electrical characteristics include a working peak reverse voltage of 15V, a maximum clamping voltage of 24.4V, and a zener breakdown voltage range of 6.7V to 199V for the series. The device features a fast response time of typically 1.0 ns, low reverse leakage current of 5.0 µA maximum above 10V, and an ESD rating of Class 3 (>16 kV) per the Human Body Model. It also meets UL 497B for isolated loop circuit protection.
The 1SMB15AT3 is housed in a surface mount SMB (DO-214AA) package with modified L-bend leads for improved solder joint contact area.
