The 1N6171A is a bidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode designed to protect sensitive electronic circuits from voltage transients. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 121.6V and a maximum clamping voltage of 218.4V at a peak pulse current of 6.9A (10/1000µs waveform). The device is rated for 1500W peak pulse power.
This TVS diode is housed in a hermetically sealed voidless hard glass axial package with tungsten slugs, suitable for through-hole mounting. It operates over a junction temperature range of -65°C to +175°C. The part is intended for general purpose applications and does not include power line protection.
The 1N6171A is part of the 1N6138A-1N6173A series. The datasheet indicates this series is military qualified per MIL-PRF-19500/516 and is available in JAN, JANTX, JANTXV, and JANS versions. RoHS compliant versions are available for commercial grade.
