The 1N5908 is a 1500W Mosorb Zener transient voltage suppressor designed to protect sensitive components from high-voltage, high-energy transients. It features excellent clamping capability, high surge capability, low zener impedance, and fast response time.
Key electrical specifications include a working peak reverse voltage of 5V, a maximum clamping voltage of 8.5V at 120A peak pulse current (8/20µs), and a minimum breakdown voltage of 6.0V at 1.0mA test current. The device offers a peak power dissipation of 1500W at 1ms and a response time of less than 1ns.
The 1N5908 is housed in a DO-201AD axial leaded through-hole package, suitable for manual and automated assembly. It is ideally suited for use in communication systems, numerical controls, process controls, medical equipment, business machines, and power supplies.
