The 1N5822G is a Schottky barrier rectifier diode from On Semiconductor, part of the 1N5820/1N5821/1N5822 series. It features a peak repetitive reverse voltage of 40V, a maximum average rectified forward current of 3A (at TL=95°C with PCB mounting), and a typical forward voltage of 525mV at 3A. The diode can handle non-repetitive peak surge currents up to 80A for one cycle. Its operating junction temperature range is -65°C to 125°C, with a maximum thermal resistance of 28°C/W junction-to-ambient when mounted on a PCB.
Schottky technology provides extremely low forward voltage, low power loss, high efficiency, and low stored charge due to majority carrier conduction. This makes the device well-suited for low-voltage, high-frequency inverters, freewheeling diodes, and polarity protection circuits. The part is available in Pb-Free packages as indicated by the /C0071 marking.
The 1N5822G is packaged in an axial lead DO-201AA (DO-27) case, molded epoxy, weighing approximately 1.1 grams. It is a through-hole mount component with axial leads. The cathode is identified by a polarity band. Maximum lead soldering temperature is 260°C for 10 seconds. Standard packaging options include bulk (500 per bag) or tape and reel (1500 per reel, order 1N5822GRL).
