The 1N5822 is a Schottky barrier rectifier diode designed for high-efficiency power conversion. It features a low forward voltage drop of 500 mV at 3 A, enabling reduced power dissipation. The device is rated for an average rectified current of 3 A at a lead temperature of 55°C and can handle non-repetitive surge currents up to 80 A. Its fast recovery time of ≤500 ns makes it suitable for high-frequency switching applications.
The diode is housed in a hermetically sealed axial-leaded B package, offering through-hole mounting flexibility. It is metallurgically bonded with double plug construction for enhanced reliability. The junction temperature range is -65°C to 125°C, and the storage temperature range extends to 150°C. Thermal resistance from junction to lead is 30°C/W.
This part is available in commercial and military-qualified versions (JAN, JANTX, JANTXV, JANS) per MIL-PRF-19500/620. RoHS compliant options are available for commercial grade. The 1N5822 is suitable for power supply rectification, reverse polarity protection, and other high-reliability applications.
