The 1N5821-E3/54 is a Schottky barrier plastic rectifier diode from Vishay. It features a guardring for overvoltage protection, very small conduction losses, extremely fast switching, and low forward voltage drop. The diode is rated for a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage of 30V, an average forward rectified current of 3A at 95°C lead temperature, and a peak forward surge current of 80A. The maximum forward voltage drop is 0.5V at 3A. Reverse leakage current is 2mA at 30V and 25°C, increasing to 20mA at 100°C.
This diode is designed for use in low voltage high frequency inverters, freewheeling, DC/DC converters, and polarity protection applications. Its fast switching capability makes it suitable for high frequency operation. The device is housed in a DO-201AD axial package with matte tin plated leads, solderable per J-STD-002 and JESD 22-B102. The molding compound meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating.
The operating junction temperature range is -65°C to 125°C. The E3 suffix indicates RoHS-compliant commercial grade. The diode is also rated for non-repetitive peak reverse voltage of 36V and maximum RMS voltage of 21V.
