The 1N5407 is a standard recovery rectifier diode designed for general-purpose rectification applications. It offers a repetitive peak reverse voltage of 800V and an average forward rectified current of 3A, with a maximum forward voltage of 1.2V at 3A and 25°C. The device can handle peak forward surge currents up to 200A (8.3ms half sine-wave) and has a typical reverse recovery time of 1500ns.
This diode is well-suited for 50/60Hz mains rectification, power supplies, and polarity protection circuits. It operates over a junction temperature range of -50°C to +175°C, with thermal resistance of 25 K/W junction-to-ambient. The component is packaged in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial lead case, weighing approximately 0.8g, with tin-plated leads for solderability.
