The 1N5406-TP is a standard recovery rectifier diode from Micro Commercial Components (MCC), designed for general purpose power rectification. It features a maximum reverse voltage of 600V and an average forward current of 3A at 105°C. The forward voltage is typically 1V at 3A and 25°C, with a reverse leakage current of 5µA at 25°C and 100µA at 150°C. The device can withstand a peak forward surge current of 200A (8.3ms half sine wave) and has a typical junction capacitance of 40pF at 4V and 1MHz.
This diode uses standard recovery technology (>500ns, >200mA), making it suitable for 50/60Hz line frequency rectification rather than high-speed switching. The operating junction temperature range is -65°C to +150°C, with a typical thermal resistance of 15°C/W (junction to ambient, leads kept at 9.5mm from case).
The 1N5406-TP is packaged in a DO-201AD axial lead through-hole package. Standard packaging is 1200 pieces per reel for the tape and reel variant (suffix -TP). The device is RoHS3 compliant (lead-free finish) and has MSL Level 1 (unlimited). Halogen-free option is available with the -HF suffix. The epoxy meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating.
