The 1N5373B is a 68V Zener diode from the 1N53 series of 5W Surmetic 40 voltage regulators manufactured by On Semiconductor. It is designed for voltage regulation and protection applications requiring a stable 68V reference.
Electrical specifications include a nominal Zener voltage of 68V with ±5% tolerance, maximum power dissipation of 5W at 25°C lead temperature (derated 40 mW/°C above 25°C), reverse leakage current of 500 nA at 51.7V, and Zener impedance of 44 Ω at IZT. The diode can handle surge power up to 180W for 8.3 ms and has an ESD rating of Class 3 (>16 kV) per Human Body Model.
The device is housed in a T-18, axial lead plastic package with cathode band polarity marking. It is through-hole mountable and supports soldering at 260°C for 10 seconds. Operating temperature range is -65°C to 200°C.
Typical applications include voltage regulation, overvoltage protection, and clamping circuits in power supplies, industrial controls, and consumer electronics. The 1N5373B is a Pb-free compliant device (RoHS) and is REACH unaffected.
