The 1N4007-E3/73 is a general purpose plastic rectifier diode from Vishay Dale, designed for use in power supply rectification, inverters, converters, and freewheeling diode applications. It features a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage (VRRM) of 1000 V and an average rectified current (IF(AV)) of 1 A. The forward voltage is typically 1.1 V at 1 A, and reverse leakage current is limited to 5.0 μA at 25°C. The device can handle non-repetitive peak forward surge currents up to 30 A (8.3 ms sine-wave).
This diode is housed in a DO-204AL (DO-41) axial lead through-hole package with matte tin plated terminals, ensuring solderability per J-STD-002 and JESD 22-B102. The molding compound meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating. The E3 suffix indicates RoHS compliance and commercial grade. Operating temperature range is -50°C to 150°C, with a maximum junction temperature of 150°C.
Typical applications include general purpose rectification in power supplies, as freewheeling diodes in inductive load circuits, and in bridge rectifier configurations. The standard recovery characteristic (trr >500 ns) makes it suitable for line frequency applications.
