The 1N4005-E3/73 is a general purpose plastic rectifier diode from Vishay, designed for standard recovery applications. It offers a maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage of 600V and an average forward rectified current of 1A. The forward voltage is typically 1.1V at 1A, and the device can handle peak forward surge currents up to 30A (8.3 ms sine wave) and 45A (1 ms square wave).
This diode is housed in a DO-41 (DO-204AL) molded epoxy package with axial leads, suitable for through-hole mounting. The package meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating and the leads are matte tin plated, solderable per J-STD-002 and JESD 22-B102. The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 150°C.
Typical applications include general purpose rectification in power supplies, inverters, converters, and as freewheeling diodes. The device is RoHS-compliant (E3 suffix) and has a standard recovery time greater than 500 ns at >200 mA.
