The 1N4004 is a standard recovery rectifier diode from On Semiconductor, part of the 1N400x series designed for general-purpose low-power applications. It offers a peak repetitive reverse voltage of 400 V and an average rectified forward current of 1 A. The forward voltage is typically 1.1 V at 1 A, and the device can handle a non-repetitive peak surge current of 30 A. The reverse recovery time is greater than 500 ns, making it suitable for low-frequency rectification.
