The 1N4001-E3/53 is a general purpose plastic rectifier diode from Vishay, designed for use in power supply rectification, inverters, converters, and freewheeling diode applications. It is rated for a repetitive peak reverse voltage of 50V and an average rectified current of 1A.
Key electrical characteristics include a typical forward voltage of 1.1V at 1A, a maximum reverse leakage current of 5µA, and a peak forward surge current of 30A (8.3ms sine-wave). The device has a standard recovery speed (>500ns) and a junction capacitance of 15pF at 4V, 1MHz.
The diode is housed in a DO-204AL (DO-41) axial leaded package with through-hole mounting. The package is molded epoxy meeting UL 94 V-0 flammability rating.
