The 1N4001 is a standard recovery rectifier diode from On Semiconductor, designed for general-purpose 50/60 Hz mains rectification and polarity protection applications. It features a repetitive peak reverse voltage (VRRM) of 50 V and an average forward rectified current (IFAV) of 1 A at an ambient temperature of 75°C.
Key electrical characteristics include a forward voltage of 1.1 V at 1 A, a peak forward surge current of 30 A (60 Hz), and a typical reverse recovery time of 1500 ns.
