The 1N1187 is a standard recovery rectifier diode from Solid State Devices Inc (SSDI). It is designed for high current rectification applications requiring up to 300V repetitive peak reverse voltage and 35A continuous forward current. The diode features a low forward voltage drop of 1.2V at 35A and a high surge current capability of 595A (8.3ms half sine wave), making it suitable for demanding power supply and motor drive circuits.
The device is housed in a rugged DO-5 (DO-203AB) stud mount package, which provides excellent thermal performance with a junction-to-case thermal resistance of 0.25°C/W. The operating temperature range spans -55°C to 150°C, allowing use in harsh environments. The stud mount design ensures secure mechanical attachment and efficient heat sinking.
As a standard recovery diode with recovery time greater than 500ns, the 1N1187 is optimized for line frequency applications where fast switching is not required. It is commonly used in AC/DC converters, battery chargers, and industrial power supplies.
The 1N1187 has a repetitive peak reverse voltage (VRRM) of 300V, RMS reverse voltage of 210V, and DC blocking voltage of 300V.
The continuous forward current (IF) is 35A at a junction temperature of 140°C. The surge non-repetitive forward current is 595A (8.3ms half sine wave).
The forward voltage drop is 1.2V at a forward current of 35A and junction temperature of 25°C.
