The Kyocera AVX 1812AC392KAT1A is a high voltage multilayer ceramic chip capacitor (MLCC) designed for demanding applications requiring stable capacitance and high voltage handling. It offers a capacitance of 3900 pF with a tolerance of ±10% and a rated voltage of 1000V (1kV). The X7R temperature coefficient ensures stable performance over a wide operating temperature range of -55°C to 125°C, with a capacitance change of ±15% over temperature.
This capacitor is housed in a standard 1812 (4532 Metric) surface mount package, measuring 4.60mm x 3.20mm with a maximum thickness of 1.80mm. The termination finish is plated nickel and tin, making it RoHS compliant. It is suitable for general purpose applications, particularly in high voltage circuits such as snubbers in power converters, resonators in switch-mode power supplies, and DC blocking or coupling.
As a high voltage MLCC, it is recommended for reflow soldering only, with careful temperature ramp control to avoid thermal shock. The part is supplied on 7-inch tape and reel for automated assembly.
