The 15KPA20A is a unidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient events. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 20V and a clamping voltage of 34.3V at a peak pulse current of 440.2A (10/1000μs waveform). With a peak pulse power dissipation of 15kW, it offers robust protection for I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer applications.
The device utilizes a glass passivated chip junction in a P600 axial leaded package, providing fast response time typically less than 1ps from 0V to breakdown voltage. It also features low incremental surge resistance and excellent clamping capability. The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 175°C, and the diode is RoHS3 compliant, REACH unaffected, and halogen free.
Mounting is through-hole with axial leads, making it suitable for traditional PCB assembly. The 15KPA20A is the unidirectional version; the bidirectional counterpart is the 15KPA20CA. This component is UL recognized (file E230531) and meets IEC 61000-4-2 ESD and IEC 61000-4-4 EFT protection standards.
