The Desco STATSHIELD® Metal-In static shielding bag (part number 13490) is a 3.0 mil (76.2 micron) flexible bag designed for protecting sensitive electronic components from electrostatic discharge. It features a proprietary low-charging static dissipative outer polyester layer, an aluminum shielding layer, and a low-charging static dissipative inner polyethylene layer.
Electrical performance includes surface resistance of 1 x 10^4 to < 1 x 10^11 ohms on both inner and outer surfaces per ANSI/ESD STM11.11, discharge shielding of <20 nJ per ANSI/ESD STM11.31 and EIA 541, and a capacitance probe reading of <30 volts for a 1 kV discharge per ANSI/EIA-541 Appendix E. Charge generation is 0.09 nC/sq.in. (Teflon) and 0.01 nC/sq.in. (Quartz) per Modified Incline Plane method.
Mechanical properties include tensile strength of 4600 PSI (32 MPa) per ASTM D882, puncture resistance >10 lbs per MIL-STD-3010, heat seal strength >10 lbs/in at 375°F, and light transmission >40% per ASTM D-1003. The bag is non-corrosive per MIL-STD-3010 and silicone-free per FTIR analysis. It is packaged 100 per package in an oversized shielding bag.
