The Vogt Electronic ZIO 1244 is a remote input/output module engineered for safely isolating and measuring Cathodic Protection (CP) potentials over SCADA systems. This module is capable of simultaneously measuring both DC and AC values of the Pipe to Soil potential. Data can be transferred to a SCADA system via 4-20mA analog outputs or through RS485 MODBUS communication.

Featuring a wide input voltage range of 12-50 VDC with reverse polarity protection, the ZIO 1244 ensures connection safety. It includes one analog input with a range of ±10 VDC or ±7 VACrms, protected up to 500V. The module also provides four digital inputs supporting a voltage range of 15-30 VDC and four relay outputs, each with a contact current rating of 4A at 250VAC.

With a measurement accuracy of 0.5%+20mV for DC and 2%+0.1V for AC, and a resolution of 5mV for DC and 2.5mV for AC, the ZIO 1244 offers precise readings. It operates within an ambient temperature range of -30°C to +60°C and is designed for DIN rail mounting, making it suitable for various industrial applications.

Communication is facilitated via RS485 MODBUS RTU at a speed of 9600 BPS. The module also features galvanic isolation and burst/surge protection, enhancing its reliability in demanding environments. The ZIO 1244 is equipped with two 4-20mA analog outputs, one mapping the mean value of the analog input and the other mapping the AC RMS value.
