The Kyocera AVX 1210AC102KAT1A is a high voltage multilayer ceramic chip capacitor (MLCC) designed for demanding applications requiring stable capacitance and high voltage handling. It offers a capacitance of 1000 pF with a voltage rating of 1000V (1kV) and a tolerance of ±10%. The X7R temperature coefficient ensures stable performance over a wide operating temperature range of -55°C to +125°C.
This capacitor is housed in a standard 1210 (3225 Metric) surface mount package measuring 3.30mm x 2.50mm with a maximum thickness of 1.80mm. It features plated nickel and tin terminations for reliable soldering. The component is intended for general purpose applications such as snubbers in high frequency power converters, resonators in switch mode power supplies, and high voltage coupling or DC blocking.
As a high voltage MLCC, special handling precautions are recommended during assembly. Reflow soldering is required for 1210 and larger sizes, and the temperature gradient should not exceed 4°C per second. The preheat temperature must be within 50°C of the peak ceramic body temperature during soldering.
