The 1210AA221KAT1A is a high voltage multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) from Kyocera AVX, designed for applications requiring up to 1000V DC. It offers a capacitance of 220 pF with a ±10% tolerance, using a stable C0G (NP0) dielectric. This provides excellent temperature stability with a capacitance change of ±30 ppm/°C over the -55°C to +125°C operating range.
This capacitor is housed in a 1210 (3225 metric) surface-mount package with dimensions of 3.30mm x 2.50mm x 1.80mm. The termination is plated nickel and tin, making it RoHS compliant. It is supplied on 7-inch reel tape and reel packaging suitable for automated assembly.
Typical applications include snubbers in high-frequency power converters, resonators in switch-mode power supplies, and high-voltage coupling/DC blocking circuits. The high voltage design exhibits low ESR at high frequencies, making it suitable for demanding power electronics. Note that for sizes 1210 and larger, reflow soldering is recommended with controlled temperature gradients not exceeding 4°C per second.
