The E-T-A 1180-02-8A is a compact thermal circuit breaker designed as a replacement for conventional fuses in both AC and DC voltage systems. It offers reliable switching behavior with a snap-action mechanism and a positively trip-free design. The push-push button allows for direct load switching for maintenance purposes, preventing device loss as it remains within the terminal block.
This circuit breaker is suitable for standard terminal blocks and DIN rail mounting, featuring a very small width of only 8.2 mm, which saves space and weight in equipment. It is universally applicable for AC and DC circuits, with voltage ratings of 250V AC and 65V DC (UL, UL Canada: AC 250V; DC 72V). The current ratings range from 0.1A to 10A, with preferred types available in fine gradations. The typical life is rated at 6,000 operations at 1x In (low-inductance) and 3,000 operations at 1x In (inductive).
Typical applications include the protection of loads in power distribution systems within control cabinets and process control environments. Accessories such as bridging connectors and jumpers are available for simplified wiring. The 1180 series meets the requirements of the EN 60934 (IEC 60934) circuit breaker standard.
