The 1.5SMC22AT3 is a unidirectional TVS diode from ON Semiconductor, designed for transient voltage protection in general-purpose applications. It features an 18.8V reverse standoff voltage (V_RWM) and a clamping voltage of 30.6V at the peak pulse current of 49A. With a peak pulse power dissipation of 1500W (1.5kW), it provides robust protection against voltage spikes. The device uses a Zener avalanche breakdown mechanism and is not intended for power line protection.
It is housed in an SMC package (DO-214AB) for surface mount assembly, supporting an operating temperature range from -65°C to 150°C. Its compact footprint makes it suitable for automated PCB assembly in various electronic systems. The unidirectional polarity ensures fast, low-inductance clamping for circuits operating below 18.8V.
