The 1.5KE82A is a 1500W unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Taiwan Semiconductor, designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It features a breakdown voltage of 82V with a 5% tolerance (minimum 77.9V, typical), a reverse standoff voltage of 70.1V typical, and a clamping voltage of 113V at a peak pulse current of 13.9A. The device offers a fast response time of less than 1ps from 0V to breakdown voltage.
This TVS diode is suitable for general-purpose applications including protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. It is built with a glass passivated chip junction in a DO-201 (DO-27) axial leaded package for through-hole mounting. The operating junction temperature range is -55°C to 175°C.
The 1.5KE82A provides excellent clamping capability and low incremental surge resistance. It is rated for 1500W peak pulse power dissipation under a 10/1000μs waveform. The device is lead-free (Pb-free E3) and halogen-free per the datasheet, with RoHS and REACH compliance claimed but unverified.
