The 1.5KE550 is a 1500W unidirectional TVS diode from Littelfuse, part of the 1.5KE series. It is designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients induced by lightning and other transient voltage events. The device features a reverse standoff voltage of 495V and a breakdown voltage of 495V minimum, with a maximum clamping voltage of 798V at a peak pulse current of 2A (10/1000µs waveform).
The TVS diode offers fast response time of typically less than 1.0ps from 0V to breakdown voltage, making it suitable for high-speed transient protection. It has a peak pulse power dissipation of 1500W and steady state power dissipation of 6.5W. The device is unidirectional and can handle a peak forward surge current of 200A for 8.3ms.
The 1.5KE550 is housed in a DO-201AA, DO-27, or Axial through-hole package with matte tin termination finish. It is RoHS compliant and halogen free, with an operating temperature range of -55°C to 175°C. Typical applications include protection of I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics.
