The 1.5KE170CA-E3/54 is a 1500W bidirectional transient voltage suppressor (TVS) diode from Vishay Dale. It features a standoff voltage of 145V, a nominal breakdown voltage of 170V, and a clamping voltage of 234V at 6.4A peak pulse current. The device is designed for through-hole mounting in a DO-201AA, DO-27, or Axial package and operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C. Terminals are matte tin plated for solderability.
This TVS diode is suitable for protecting sensitive electronics from voltage transients caused by inductive load switching and lightning. Typical applications include protection of ICs, MOSFETs, and signal lines in consumer, computer, industrial, automotive, and telecommunication equipment. The glass passivated chip junction provides fast response time and low incremental surge resistance.
The part is RoHS compliant (E3 suffix) and meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating for the molding compound. The bidirectional polarity (CA suffix) allows the device to clamp both positive and negative transients.
