The 1.5KE170A is a unidirectional Zener TVS diode from Littelfuse designed to protect sensitive electronic equipment from voltage transients. It features a reverse standoff voltage of 145V and a clamping voltage of 234V at a peak pulse current of 6.5A. With a peak pulse power dissipation of 1500W (10/1000μs waveform) and a fast response time of less than 1ps, it provides robust transient suppression.
This device is housed in a through-hole DO-201 package (also compatible with DO-201AA and DO-27 axial lead styles) and operates over a junction temperature range of -55°C to 175°C. The glass passivated chip junction ensures reliability, and the matte tin lead finish is Pb-free E3. The plastic package is flammability rated V-0 per UL. The part is claimed to be RoHS3 compliant, REACH unaffected, and MSL 1 (unlimited), though these compliance claims are unverified.
Typical applications include general purpose transient voltage protection for I/O interfaces, VCC bus, and other vulnerable circuits in telecom, computer, industrial, and consumer electronics. The device is not intended for power line protection.
