The 1.5KE10A-E3/54 is a 1500W unidirectional transient voltage suppression (TVS) diode from Vishay, part of the TRANSZORB series. It is designed to protect sensitive electronics from voltage transients induced by inductive load switching and lightning. Key electrical specifications include a reverse standoff voltage of 8.55V, a nominal breakdown voltage of 10V, and a maximum clamping voltage of 14.5V at a peak pulse current of 103A (10/1000 µs waveform). The device can handle 1500W peak pulse power and 200A peak forward surge current (8.3 ms).
The TVS diode features a glass passivated chip junction for reliability and very fast response time. It is unidirectional, with the cathode end marked by a color band. The device is housed in a DO-201AA (DO-27) axial lead package, suitable for through-hole mounting. Operating temperature range is -55°C to 175°C.
Typical applications include protection of ICs, MOSFETs, and signal lines in consumer, computer, industrial, automotive, and telecommunication systems. The 1.5KE10A-E3/54 is RoHS3 compliant and meets UL 94 V-0 flammability rating.
