The Phoenix Contact 0903049 is an electronic miniature circuit-breaker from the CLIPLINE EC-E... series, designed to selectively protect 24V DC load circuits. It features active electronic current limitation for short circuits and an overload shutdown function that activates from 1.1 times the nominal current upwards. This design ensures faster reaction to overloads than the power supply unit, restricting residual current to 1.3 - 1.8 times the nominal current.
This circuit-breaker supports capacitive loads up to 20,000 µF, allowing them to be switched on without tripping unless an overload or short circuit occurs. Once a fault is detected, the load output is blocked, and current flow is interrupted. The device can be reactivated manually via a slide switch or through an electronic reset input. It has a nominal current of 12A and a voltage rating of 24V DC.
With a compact design width of 12.5 mm, the 0903049 can be easily snapped onto NS 35 DIN rails. It features screw connections for wiring and includes a multi-color LED and an integrated status output to display operating and fault states. This makes wiring and signaling tasks straightforward using power rails and plug-in bridges.
