The Kyocera AVX 08053G104ZAT2S is a surface mount multilayer ceramic capacitor (MLCC) with a capacitance of 0.1 µF and a rated voltage of 25V. It uses a Y5V dielectric formulation, which offers a wide capacitance change of +22% to -82% over the operating temperature range of -30°C to +85°C. The capacitance tolerance is -20%/+80%.
This capacitor is housed in an 0805 (2012 Metric) package with dimensions of 2.01mm x 1.25mm and a maximum thickness of 0.71mm. Terminations are plated with nickel and tin, suitable for surface mount assembly. The part is supplied on a 7" reel for automated pick-and-place.
Electrical characteristics include a maximum dissipation factor of 7.0% at rated voltage and a minimum insulation resistance of 10,000 MΩ or 500 MΩ-µF, whichever is less. Dielectric strength testing is performed at 250% of rated voltage for 1-5 seconds with no breakdown or visual defects.
Y5V MLCCs are ideal for decoupling and bypass applications in consumer electronics and general-purpose circuits where the operating temperature remains within -30°C to +85°C. The 0805 package provides a good balance of capacitance density and board space.
