The OXLEY 040/SO/BK2P is a Kinky Pin connector specifically designed to meet the demands of plated through hole (PTH) technology in printed circuit boards. It utilizes a unique kinked retention mechanism that ensures a secure and unsurpassed fit within the PTH. This mechanism provides a tight, non-aggressive spring-loaded fit, while the straight leg of the pin maintains perpendicularity to the PCB prior to soldering.
The slotted design of the Kinky Pin enhances solderability and reliability by inducing solder wicking up into the kink and flange, resulting in a solid solder joint free of air pockets. This design reduces the possibility of dry joints and increases the lifespan of the solder joint.
The Kinky Pin range is optimized for a wide spectrum of PTH diameters, ranging from 0.508 mm (0.020 inches) to 1.524 mm (0.060 inches). These connectors are capable of both hand and semi-automatic machine insertion, making them suitable for various manufacturing processes. Standard finishes include tin lead and gold, with other finishes available upon request.
